The test, which has been translated into more than 100 languages, asks the following questions: Of the things we think, say or do Is it the TRUTH? The student is judged on Content (50%), Organization (30%), and Delivery (20%). The student must follow the Four-Way Test Theme throughout, must relate the speech to his/her own activities, must present a human-interest appeal, and must choose language that is clear, vivid and persuasive. The student must demonstrate organization of thought including an introduction, clear and orderly points and a brief conclusion that drives home the point of application. And finally, the student must be effective in his or her speech delivery including volume, grammar, gestures and attitude toward the audience. This competition is always a highlight for our club as we look forward to hearing from the students. |

For each $20 donation you make, you will be assigned a uniquely numbered cork. All corks are put into a drawing. As each bottle of wine is pulled, a cork is drawn. If the cork has your number, you win the bottle of wine! Each bottle has a value of at least $20; most are over $25, so there isn't a bad bottle to be pulled. Several premium bottles, with values as high as $100, are available. You do not need to be present to win—we will contact you with instructions for picking up your wine.
CLICK HERE to purchase your corks!
CONTACT US if you have wine to donate.
Join Us as we pull the corks - Thursday, March 30, 5 - 7PM at the Broad Theater. There will be fun, door prizes, and of course, wine!

District Governor Diane Donaher is a member of the Bethlehem Rotary Club and was a charter member of Bethlehem Morning Star Rotary Club formed in 1989. She served as President of both clubs and Assistant Governor for Area 2. The Rotary International Council on Legislation voted to allow women as members of Rotary that year. Diane is grateful to have been part of these important years of Rotary International’s growth and development.
Her early Rotary years were filled with community projects like ringing the bell for the Salvation Army (always accompanied by her children wearing Santa hats or reindeer antlers!) and fund-raising spaghetti dinners. Having two small children and experiencing a job change, she moved to the Bethlehem Rotary Club in 2003 due to meeting time and location. As she learned more about Rotary and the opportunity to serve beyond her community, Diane was chair of the district Vocational Service Committee, participated on the Foundation Committee using her professional skills to serve, Diane chaired six District 7430 Conferences. She is a Paul Harris Fellow +3 , Foundation Benefactor and Bequest Society Level 1 member with her husband, Dean.
DG Diane looks forward to visiting our club to share the message of the 2023-2024 Rotary International theme "Create Hope in the World".
