It was a proud reminder that the service and encouragement we offer truly ripple into meaningful opportunities for our young people.
The first article, highlighted on the front page, celebrated the 9th Annual Veterans Brunch co-organized by the Interact Club. This event has become a treasured tradition—bringing students and veterans together for fellowship, gratitude, and shared stories. Many of us have had the privilege of hearing Interact members present about this program, and it is inspiring to see how thoughtfully they honor those who have served our country.
On page two, another article described the Interact Club’s recent trip to the Project C.U.R.E. warehouse in West Grove. Students rolled up their sleeves to sort and prepare medical supplies that will be sent to communities in need around the world. Once again, we have been fortunate to hear firsthand from these students about the impact this experience had on them and the global perspective it provided.
Returning to the front page, there was also a wonderful feature on the inaugural International Culture Fest, an event that showcased the rich diversity within our school community. Just a few weeks ago, several students visited our club to share how they used a grant from the Indian Valley Education Foundation to bring this celebration to life. Seeing that story in print was a powerful testament to what can happen when young leaders are given encouragement and support.
I wanted to draw your attention to these three articles because every Rotary member has played a part in these successes. Through our sponsorship of Interact, our mentorship, and our commitment to Service Above Self, we help create the environment where students can dream big and turn ideas into action. You may not always see the direct results, but they are there—in newspaper pages, in community events, and most importantly, in the growth of these remarkable young people.
I encourage you to continue experiencing this impact firsthand by joining us at two upcoming student events. On Thursday, February 26 at 6PM, we will host the 4-Way Test Speech Contest in the Souderton Area High School Library—a highlight each year as students share inspiring messages through the lens of Rotary’s guiding principles. Then on Thursday, April 23, at 6PM, we will gather at Indian Valley Country Club for the Annual Interact Presentation, where our Interactors will showcase their projects and the difference they are making locally and globally.
Thank you for the many ways you invest in the next generation. These articles are a reflection of your encouragement, your generosity, and your belief in our students. I hope to see many of you at these upcoming events as we celebrate their achievements together.
