In January, we received a contribution of $755 from the Bunco Ladies of Indian Valley Greenes. They have asked that it be disbursed for the community outreach programs.
Our club has a community outreach program for the three local police departments. We provide discretionary funds for them to use in emergency situations. In recent years, these funds have been used to purchase heating oil, food, and/or clothing for families and emergency housing for the homeless. The local police officers are often the first to hear about emergency situations. These discretionary funds enable the officers to make decisions on-the-spot to help begin the process of resolving a problem.
The funds will be split equally between the police departments of Franconia Township, Souderton Borough, and Telford Borough. Thank you, Bunco Ladies!
