The wait is over....President-Elect Sarah Bergin has finally found out what the official Rotary Theme is for her Presidential Year...and boy is she excited!
Over my 13 years, as part of our Rotary Club, I have heard from many former club presidents on how the Rotary International theme “struck a cord” with them during their presidental year. I reflected back on a few of the themes and our past presidents and how I see their connection.
- 2017 – 18 “Rotary: Make a Difference” – Leon Moyer
- Leon is a great example of a leader making a difference over his lifetime in our community. His leadership has supported many projects, including our Centenniel project – the Souderton Borough Park renovation.
- 2018 – 19 “Be the Inspiration” – Suzi Berry
- Suzi tries her best to inspire others daily. One way she does this in her personal life is by posting a daily scripture verse on her Facebook page.
- 2019 – 20 “Rotary Connects the World – Ed Brubaker
- Ed is very committed to the bigger world of Rotary, including Rotary’s work on ending Polio and the Rotary peace initiatives.
- 2020 – 21 “Rotary Opens Opportunities” – Dan Yocum
- Dan excels at connecting people with opportunities here in our community to make strong connections. (Sounds like a great Mayor – oh yeah, he is the Mayor!)
- 2021 – 22 –“Serve to Change Lives” – Karla Myers
- Committed to the youth in our community, Karla’s time and support of our Interact Club will change lives as these students experience new opportunities thanks to her time and representation of our club.
What has Rotary International chosen as the theme for 2025 - 26? UNITE FOR GOOD

Why am I so excited about it? At my core, I am a consensus builder. As a consensus builder I’d like to think I try my best to be open-minded, inclusive, and empathetic. I value everyone’s input and I try my best to work together to find solutions that everyone can agree on. This does not mean I try to make everyone “happy” – I’m a leader NOT a magician! Often, I must be the one who makes the final decision. When I do so, my team knows that a decision is made only after I have done my best to hear from all sides. I aspire to bring people together for a common purpose.
Souderton-Telford Rotary Club – can we continue to UNITE FOR GOOD??
I know we can. We will need to set aside our own agenda’s and take time to listen to each other and build relationships. Perhaps doing something differently than before!
What a great theme to start off our 100th year!
