B-I-N-G-O was shouted from the roof-tops of the Quakertown Rotary fundraiser!

Food, friends and FUN was the name of the game on Friday night! This was my first time playing "real" bingo - and 20 designer handbags were on the line. Thank you to Liz Herman, Chris Moyer, DG Elect Mary Cook, Janet Pesini (absent), Karla Myers and Ginny Vandenburg for purchasing tickets, raffle tickets and for bringing food to the event! The competition was intense! The room held easily over 400 people and we all wanted to win...and one of us did! Congrats to Ginny on winning a LOVELY bag!

But seriously, we were all winners as we spent time together and got to know each other better...and even did some Rotary recruitment. Ginny brought a friend, and Karla ran into an aquaintance she had not seen in sometime.

The next day I joined Kate Hoath, Ginny and Liz at the Keystone Postal Food Drive. We were blessed to have a gorgeous day to sort food and restock the pantry. It never ceases to amaze me WHAT people will donate. A real treasure was a donation with an expiration date on it for 2014. Making this somewhat commical was, the volunteer who found this "treasure" said, "I wasn't even born yet" - which was true, as he is currently in elemenatry school.

I'm including this photo because I want to encourage you to make a donation if you can. The empty shelves in this photo are in the portion of the pantry where the laundry and dish detergent is stored. These items as well as personal hygene products such as soap and maxi-pads are needed, yet not donated often. Thanks for remembering Keystone on your weekly shopping trip.
There was definetly a common theme at both events which surprised me. As I introduced myself to other attendees, I heard at both events that people were attending because they were "bored" - and needed to get out of the house. I hope you will join us at our next community event so you can help connect us to the community. Speaking of connecting....We need volunteers now for the upcoming Concert Sundae - CLICK HERE to sign up today.
