Psychiatrist Dr. Tamoor Ilyas from St. Luke’s Penn Foundation shared on anxiety disorders and depression and how they are two of the most prevalent mental health conditions in the United States, affecting nearly 40% of Americans.
Attendees were surprised to learn that regardless of age, men—white and American Indian men in particular—have the highest suicide rates.
Dr. Ilyas reviewed different treatment approaches and to not give up! It’s important to know that if you live with one or both conditions, you are not alone, and help is available. He encouraged us to care for our own mental health and to develop self-care strategies that work best for us. CLICK HERE for additional ideas.
