Our club recently welcomed Jeremy Miller and Andrew Wilkerson, who shared an inspiring update on the work of the Indian Valley Character Counts! Coalition. Their presentation reminded us that strong communities are built one intentional act at a time—through integrity, respect, responsibility, and service to others.
Jeremy and Andrew explained how the Coalition partners with schools, businesses, civic groups, and families to promote the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. These values are woven into student programs, community events, and leadership initiatives designed to encourage positive decision-making at every age.
They highlighted several local success stories, including mentorship opportunities, youth recognition programs, and collaborations with area organizations that reinforce the message that character truly matters. Their vision aligns closely with Rotary’s Four-Way Test and our commitment to Service Above Self.
Members left the meeting encouraged and challenged to consider how we, as Rotary Members, can continue to model and multiply good character throughout the Indian Valley. We thank Jeremy Miller and Andrew Wilkerson for their engaging presentation and for the important work they are leading to strengthen our community.
