Help us spread more good news about Rotary at the Franconia Fall Fest! We will have a game and prizes for the young ones, plus great information on all we do for the community! The event will be packed with lots of fun activities for all ages, yummy food options … and Saturday night FIREWORKS!! So bring the family and hang out with us for awhile!

Our typical meeting this week will be canceled due to the annual Keystone Opportunity Center fundraiser. Historically, many of our Rotary Members attend this fundraiser.  We would encourage you to join us in supporting our local social service agency.  CLICK HERE to purchase tickets. 

Even members who have been a part of Rotary for years can stumble when someone asks, "What is Rotary?".  Join us as Past District Governor Janet Kolepp leads us through ways to uncover a compelling "why" story. Switch up your response to “what is Rotary?” to “let me tell you a story!”

We have LIMITED SPOTS for a tour of the Philadelphia Toboggan Coaster Comany!  EVERYONE must sign up in advance.

If you can't make the tour, join us at 5:30PM for dinner at the Indian Valley Country Club. We will share about the tour over dinner!

We warmly welcome Eric Bishop who will explain and illustrate five in-common themes about running a business that he has learned by producing "legacy books" about local businesses and entrepreneurs.

J. Eric Bishop, PhD, taught both English and German at Christopher Dock Mennonite High School (now Dock Mennonite Academy) for 37 years.  (Two of our Rotary Members were taught by Dr. Bishop!) He currently serves two days a week as Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Quakertown Christian School. He also produces legacy books about local businesses. Eric is married to Linda Hostetler. Eric and Linda are parents of two adult children and are active members of Souderton Mennonite Church.

Join us as we serve our community! Many tasks await our helping hands - from stocking shelves, to preparing merchandise to customer service....there is a fit for everyone. 

Young people ages 8+ are welcome to join the fun.

We will travel from Souderton PA by Perkiomen Motor Coach to New York City. The United Nations staff will provide a tour.  Lunch will be served "family style" at The Smith - Midtown with a briefing on the Sustainable Development Goals presented by UN staff.

Bev Weinberg from Integrate for Good will join us in introducing their strength-based model that focuses on empowerment, connection, and education to enhance the lives of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.  They expand opportunities for these individuals to share their talents and abilities, foster meaningful community connections, and promote lifelong learning and growth. Through innovative programs and services, we aim to build a more inclusive and supportive community where everyone’s contributions are valued and celebrated.

We welcome Ginny Vandenburg and will induct her into our club.  We look forward to hearing Ginny share a bit about herself!.  We will also hear from Franconia Officer Tim Boyle, who will provide an update on the upcoming "Shop-with-a-Cop" event supporting families in our community.

This high school basketball tournament is celebrating it's 11th year.  It is named after Jim Church, the voice of local high school sports for over four decades, and a ST Rotary Member.  

Join the fun at this high-visibility annual holiday event. We will be meeting at the Indian Crest Middle School and finish up at the end of the parade on School Lane and East Broad St. (About a 1 mile walk.) Please come dressed warmly.  We are accommodating both riders as well as walkers who can help our Interact students hand out candy.

• 6:10PM - Depart for Broad Street Italian Cuisine & Pizzeria, 30 W. Broad Street, Souderton
• 6:20PM - Arrive for a pizza dinner.  Sharing by Past District Governor Diane Donaher on Rotary Foundation giving.

We will be supporting the Franconia Townships Police Benevolent Association's "Shop with a Cop" program.  This annual event strives to create a positive interaction between law enforcement and the community by helping economically disadvantaged children shop for gifts for their families during the holiday season.
 
Those wishing to volunteer at the event, kindly sign up through the link on this page.  All shopping volunteers are invited to Souderton Pizza & Pasta for a pizza party with the families after the shopping is complete. Additional information will be provided to volunteers.

At So Much To Give Inclusive Café, the mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive Café that empowers all, including those with disabilities and their families, to have equal opportunities to work, dine, socialize, volunteer, and learn.  

Join us on this dining adventure and then circle back to our next club meeting on Thursday, January 16 at 5:30PM.  Kathy Opperman, part of the founding team and Board Member, will share more about this organization.

We will welcome two of the Co-Founders of the So Much to Give Inclusive Cafe located just outside Skippack Village. The Cafe is owned by a non-profit founded by Kathy Opperman called Pillars of Light and Love. Pillars has offered free youth and adult empowerment programs, community kindness projects, and support groups to the Collegeville area community for the past 10 years. In 2021 Kathy teamed up with Maureen Stanko-who has an adult son with autism- to expand Pillars' programs to serve young adults with disabilities. In 2022, the two collaborated with Tyler Kammerle, a young man with a degree in Special Education and extensive experience working with children and adults with disabilities. Tyler had a dream to open a restaurant to employ individuals who struggle to find employment because of their different abilities. Both Tyler and Kathy, who is a friend of member Rick Kowey, will join us to share their challenging and rewarding journey of serving this important population in the community.

Join us as we prepare bags of food for the Emeal program at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Our goal is to fill 1,000 bags.

Telford Happenings, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to helping the Borough of Telford, Pennsylvania, promote the common interests of its community.  We do this through social events and other initiatives that promote Telford Borough's historic, social, and commercial character, while contributing to the betterment of the community.

High school students, grades 9 through 12 will be joining us to take part in a speech contest while applying the principles of Rotary's Four-Way Test. The winner will proceed to a regional contest on March 22, 2025 and those winners compete in the District final held at the District Conference on April 6, 2025. Cash prizes are awarded at all levels.  Join us for the very popular, annual event!
