We had the pleasure of two of our members sharing with us - Kelli Scarlet and Jean Wieder!

Kelli and Jean brought us "up to speed" on how they have been training for the upcoming Women's Philadelphia Triathlon.  It was inspirational to hear why they took on this challenge and though many of us felt inspired...we decided our skill set may be best to being cheerleaders!  Joining us at this meeting was Jean's sister, Mary Fragnito, a former triatholon participant.  She is Jean's inspirtation for participating. We look forward to hearing an update on the completion of the event.

Jean also shared with us about her visit to the Oita Oli Oli Rotary Club.  This club is a satellite club of Oita Capital Rotary Club.  Jean's daughter has been living in Japan for several years, and attended the dinner. (She is in the photograph wearing the green sweater.)

Jean shared, "A Rotary Exchange student (a member’s daughter) was there and spoke fluent English.  She ‘just so happened’ to be there sharing about her exchange experience when she was in Canada. We had a great conversation and she was a wonderful translator. After the meeting I met a member who had lived in Maryland for several years and was familiar with the Amish.  You never know who you might meet in the world! So we now have a Rotary flag from Japan!"

Several members of our club have taken time to visit clubs when they travel.  It's always a very rewarding experience - look for a club to visit the next time you travel!
