Camp Neidig was founded in 1950 to further the leadership abilities of young boys; girls were added in 1990. Each year, students are selected from the Souderton Area High School to attend the camp and we will hear from some of those students. Join us for a fun evening as we share a picnic in the park! |

Within our club, there are two corporate memberships, Keystone Opportunity Center and UNIVEST. Clarice Foster manages the food pantry for Keystone Opportunity Center and will join us to deliver her introduction speech. In addition, a student (Emma) will be joining us to share her experience from the STEM YEA program this year. |

There are two corporate memberships in STRC, Keystone Opportunity Center and UNIVEST. Linda Chaplin manages the community care for Keystone Opportunity Center and will join us in delivering an introductory speech so that we can get to know her better. In addition, President Kate Hoath will provide an update on the current status of Mpox, which was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization last week. A new type of Mpox is spreading rapidly across Africa and has the potential to expand to other continents.

Carol Fergusen is one of the founders of the PA Polio Network (PPSN). They work with many professionals providing valuable information to help educate and spread awareness about the late effects of the poliovirus, and the importance of being vaccinated against this terrible disease, and serve others all across the globe. |

More than 40% of U.S. households struggle to afford essential needs, pushing them to make difficult decisions and take significant risks every day. We will be led by Keystone Opportunity Center through a 2.5-hour Poverty Simulation that explores the lived experience of poverty firsthand through the eyes of real families. Our club has sponsored the purchase of this simulator for Keystone to use as an educational tool. For years, many top-down or well-intentioned approaches to poverty have left out the wisdom and leadership of those closest to the challenges. This experience challenges participants to rethink poverty, respond effectively, and partner with those affected for change. We hope every Rotary Member will attend this event and invite other friends, family, and community members to participate in the experience. Our goal is to:

We warmly welcome Eric Bishop who will explain and illustrate five in-common themes about running a business that he has learned by producing "legacy books" about local businesses and entrepreneurs. J. Eric Bishop, PhD, taught both English and German at Christopher Dock Mennonite High School (now Dock Mennonite Academy) for 37 years. (Two of our Rotary Members were taught by Dr. Bishop!) He currently serves two days a week as Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Quakertown Christian School. He also produces legacy books about local businesses. Eric is married to Linda Hostetler. Eric and Linda are parents of two adult children and are active members of Souderton Mennonite Church. |

We will be meeting at the Indian Crest Middle School and finish up at the end of the parade on School Lane and East Broad St. (About a 1 mile walk.) Please come dressed warmly. We are accommodating both riders as well as walkers who can help our Interact students hand out candy. |
