By day Tim Conniff is a Sales Director for a Fortune 500 company, but on nights and weekends he can be found performing stand-up comedy all over PA, NJ and DE. Tim is a clean comedian who regularly performs at comedy clubs, churches, breweries/wineries and fundraisers. He also delivers a keynote talk in the corporate and community setting that challenges the audience to get out of their comfort zone and to do challenging things. We will get to see a snippet of both here this evening. |

Maddy Beck is the Community Outreach Coordinator for Angel Flight East (AFE) and will be talking with us about their work. AFE is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community by facilitating free air transportation for children and adults with medical conditions who need to get treatment far from home. The organization serves the Northeastern region of the United States, and for destinations beyond their reach, they link with other volunteer pilot organizations. Volunteer pilots use their own aircraft to fly patients to their destinations. These men and women pay for all expenses for each mission they fly. Most AFE patients require air transportation numerous times over several years for the treatment of and follow-up for their conditions. Eli Dunham will also join us to share his plans to participate in the Rotary Exchange Program. |

Steve Fine, founder and president of the Melanoma Education Foundation, attended colleges in the Boston area, receiving a doctorate in chemistry from Northeastern University. He then moved to Pennsylvania, completing a year of postdoctoral research at Lehigh University. After 5 years as Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, he moved back to New England where he served in technical and management positions in high tech chemical companies. In 1989 he started a consulting practice in the technology of high purity chemical manufacturing, concurrently serving for 3 years as Vice President of Technology for ACSI, a West Coast manufacturer of semiconductor chemicals. The primary activity of the Foundation has been educating high school and middle school wellness teachers about melanoma and providing them with free online lessons to educate their students about self-detecting melanoma while it is curable. Prior to the Covid 19 pandemic over 1700 schools in all 50 U.S. states and Canada were using the lessons, resulting in saved lives of students, teachers and their loved ones. |

District Governor Diane Donaher is a member of the Bethlehem Rotary Club and was a charter member of Bethlehem Morning Star Rotary Club formed in 1989. She served as President of both clubs and Assistant Governor for Area 2. The Rotary International Council on Legislation voted to allow women as members of Rotary that year. Diane is grateful to have been part of these important years of Rotary International’s growth and development.
Her early Rotary years were filled with community projects like ringing the bell for the Salvation Army (always accompanied by her children wearing Santa hats or reindeer antlers!) and fund-raising spaghetti dinners. Having two small children and experiencing a job change, she moved to the Bethlehem Rotary Club in 2003 due to meeting time and location. As she learned more about Rotary and the opportunity to serve beyond her community, Diane was chair of the district Vocational Service Committee, participated on the Foundation Committee using her professional skills to serve, Diane chaired six District 7430 Conferences. She is a Paul Harris Fellow +3 , Foundation Benefactor and Bequest Society Level 1 member with her husband, Dean.
DG Diane looks forward to visiting our club to share the message of the 2023-2024 Rotary International theme "Create Hope in the World".

Rotary Youth Exchange inspires young leaders to serve as catalysts for peace and social justice in their local communities and throughout the world, long after their exchanges end. This program is possible because of the dedication, leadership, and passion of the tens of thousands of volunteers — Rotary members and nonmembers alike — who make this unique program so successful. Meredith Leiss completed her Rotary Youth Exchange year in the 2022-2023 school year and is now attending college. She will be joining us via Zoom. Luisa Saraiva Noleto is participating in the Rotary Youth Exchange program in the 2023-2024 school year and is visiting us from Brazil. |

Join the fun as we volunteer at the only thrift shop in Souderton - Care & Share Thrift Shoppes! A staple in the community for almost 50 years, the five shoppes located in one shopping center, provide high-quality, low-cost items to our community. The "secret" to their success is their volunteers and their commitment to service beyond self (sounds like our Rotarians!). So join the fun! Children 8 and older are invited to help. Any child 8 to 13 years old would need to be with an adult (18 yrs. or older) the entire time. Limit two children per adult. |
