Rotary Youth Exchange inspires young leaders to serve as catalysts for peace and social justice in their local communities and throughout the world, long after their exchanges end. This program is possible because of the dedication, leadership, and passion of the tens of thousands of volunteers — Rotary members and nonmembers alike — who make this unique program so successful.

Meredith Leiss completed her Rotary Youth Exchange year in the 2022-2023 school year and is now attending college. She will be joining us via Zoom. Luisa Saraiva Noleto is participating in the Rotary Youth Exchange program in the 2023-2024 school year and is visiting us from Brazil.

Join the fun as we volunteer at the only thrift shop in Souderton - Care & Share Thrift Shoppes!

A staple in the community for almost 50 years, the five shoppes located in one shopping center, provide high-quality, low-cost items to our community. The "secret" to their success is their volunteers and their commitment to service beyond self (sounds like our Rotarians!).  So join the fun! Children 8 and older are invited to help.  Any child 8 to 13 years old would need to be with an adult (18 yrs. or older) the entire time.  Limit two children per adult.

Souderton Telford Rotary Sets Sail for the Souderton Holiday Parade

We need hardy sailors to accompany our float during this high-visibility annual holiday event. We will be meeting at the Indian Crest Middle School and finish up at the end of the parade on School Lane and East Broad St. (About a 1 mile walk.) Please come dressed warmly.  We are accommodating both riders inside the boat as well as walkers who can help our Interact students hand out candy.

You are invited to a fundraiser for Franconia Township Police Benevolent Association's, "Shop With A Cop" program.  Tickets include a drink ticket, a plated dinner, and several rounds of trivia, "Police vs. Rotarians" hosted by FOX29 Philadelphia's Richard Curtis.  Registration is now CLOSED.  

The club assembly is a regular Rotary club meeting where there is no scheduled program but where the club president does club business such as having the Club directors report to the club on their projects, discuss upcoming fundraisers, etc.

A great meeting to attend to learn how our club is making a difference in our community, and how you can get involved!

We will be supporting the Franconia Townships Police Benevolent Association's "Shop with a Cop" program.  This annual event strives to create a positive interaction between law enforcement and the community by helping economically disadvantaged children shop for gifts for their families during the holiday season.
 
Those wishing to volunteer at the event, kindly sign up through the link on this page.  All shopping volunteers are invited to Souderton Pizza & Pasta for a pizza party with the families after the shopping is complete. Additional information will be provided to volunteers.

The STRC International Committee will provide updates on international projects in progress including improvements to a middle school in Burkina Faso, improvements to an elementary school in Honduras, and construction of a new kindergarten in Honduras.

A member of the Indian Valley Education Foundation Board will join us to talk about how the Foundation serves the community.

Brandon Trombetta, Executive Director of the Keystone Opportunity Center will join us to share big plans for the organization in 2024.

Rotary Internation President Gordon R McInally is encouraging Rotary clubs around the globe to focus on mental health in our own communities.

We are fortunate to have a leader in mental health services right here in our community.  Maureen Gingerich, MPH, MSW, LCSW, is Vice President of Integrated Services, with St. Luke's Penn Foundation.  She will be kicking off one of three meetings we will be hosting on different avenues of mental health.  Maureen will be discussing  "Navigating the System" providing an update on what’s happening in mental healthcare, including current challenges, what services are available, and how to access them.

The second Tuesday of each month is dedicated to strengthening our STRC community by hearing from new members, committees and representatives of our Rotary District.

Nate Clemmer, owner of the Branch Creek Taphouse, will join us to discuss the development of the business and his commitment to use profits to support local nonprofits.

STEM YEA is a four-day, three-Night Residential Camp for Middle School Students in our Rotary District from July 11—July 14, 2024.  Join us for an informational evening about this great student learning opportunity as well as the upcoming fundraiser to support the event.

Thomas Frawley is the Executive Director of the  Schuylkill River Transportation Authority.  He will be discussing global and local developments in passenger rail.

High school students, grades 9 through 12 will be joining us to take part in a speech contest while applying the principles of Rotary's Four-Way Test. The winner will proceed to a regional contest in April and those winners compete in the District final held at the District Conference in May. Cash prizes are awarded at all levels.  Join us for the very popular, annual event!

Jeanne Sorg, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, will review the types of documents that are recorded with the Recorder of Deeds office and go through how to search the database for current and historical deeds on your property. We are living in a deeply divided country right now – politically, economically, and ideologically. It can be difficult to get along with someone who doesn’t share your point of view. Join us to learn how to “agree to disagree” and turn a difficult conversation into a thoughtful discussion so we can all get along better during these polarizing times.
 
Rotary International President Gordon R. McInally has encouraged all Rotary Clubs to have three meetings this year focusing on how mental illness and emotional health affect us all. This will be our second meeting on a mental health discussion and will be led by Lori Vargo Heffner, EdM, MA. Lori has spent more than 35 years working as a psychotherapist in schools, hospitals, and agencies. She is currently a psychotherapist with St. Luke’s Psychiatric Associates in Phillipsburg, NJ.

We will also be welcoming Phil Shade into membership!

Join us as we help prepare the garden beds for the upcoming season!  A morning of moving soil or mulch, planting, watering or weeding!  Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty or wet, water, and closed-toed shoes. 

Garden of Health provides healthy, safe food for low-income families, including those with dietary restrictions, in Montgomery and Bucks Counties!.

Jenna Sanzo, Director of Operations for Project C.U.R.E.'s West Grove facility will be joining us to talk about her work and opportunities for volunteering. Project C.U.R.E. has grown to become the world’s largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment, and services to healthcare professionals in more than 135 countries. This is accomplished with the help of volunteers and donated medical equipment and supplies. Each year, Project C.U.R.E. ships approximately 200 40-foot semi-truck sized cargo containers carrying between $350,000 – $400,000 worth of donated medical supplies and equipment to under-resourced hospitals, clinics, and community health centers in developing countries.
